The Enugu State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to creating an enabling environment for private enterprise, as Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Industry, Dr. Samuel Ogbu-Nwobodo, declared the fifth Amadeo Business Summit (ABS 5.0) open on the Oct. 6, 2026.

Dr. Ogbu-Nwobodo spoke as the keynote speaker, representing the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah. He conveyed the governor’s felicitations and welcomed participants to Enugu for the summit, themed “Sustaining Growth & Soaring.”
“Enugu is open”
The commissioner said the theme speaks directly to the state’s economic direction, and that the administration has laid the groundwork to move Enugu from its image as a civil service state to an emerging commercial and industrial powerhouse. The task now, he said, is to scale new heights, deepen resilience, and build a sustainable commercial ecosystem.
“Enugu is open,” he said. “It’s not just a cliché. It’s an action point.” He described this as a principle the administration lives by daily.
He listed measures the government is taking to support businesses:
•Streamlining business regulations
•Upgrading infrastructure
•Building stronger national and international transport and logistics links
•Driving digital innovation
•Strengthening security, which he said has made Enugu one of the safest states in the country
These steps, he said, are meant to remove bottlenecks so local and foreign investors can find firmer ground for success.
A platform for partnerships
Dr. Ogbu-Nwobodo described the Amadeo Business Summit as a catalyst for dialogue, cross-sector collaboration, and partnerships. He urged investors, policymakers, and business leaders to use the platform in the days and years ahead, not only to exchange ideas but to forge “actionable alliances” that will shape the economic future of the state and the country.
He thanked the organisers and sponsors for their commitment to enterprise development in Enugu, then, on behalf of the governor, declared the summit open. He wished participants fruitful deliberations and inspiring connections.
The summit, organised by Amadeo Initiatives, runs through Friday, Oct. 9, at the Amadeo Event Centre, Enugu.
