A two term former Executive Chairman, Nkanu East Local Government Council, who also served as a member of the Enugu State Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), Chief (Hon) Ejike Ani officially announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Ani made this known in a letter dated 24th September, 2025, addressed to the ward Chairman of the party, Amechi Idodo/ Oruku ward, stating that the choice was made in the best interest of his personal convictions and future engagements.
In his words, “ I am writing to formally resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for the support and trust I received during my tenure as the Elected Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Council on two occasions, as well as my time as a member of the Enugu State Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB) and in other roles,
Continuing, Ani stated that, “It has been a privilege to serve the party and the community, and I am thankful for the valuable experiences and personal growth that have come from my involvement.”
