France Bans Protests Across Key Paris Landmarks as Macron Criticizes Trump Over Unrest Remarks

French authorities have enforced stringent protest bans across critical zones in Paris as the nation braces for renewed demonstrations following days of severe street unrest. The sweeping security crackdown follows a wave of violent clashes, extensive looting, and vandalism that prompted government officials to candidly admit they temporarily lost control during recent cost-of-living and student rallies.

The newly instituted prohibition restricts public gatherings around key national landmarks and high-profile commercial districts, encompassing the Élysée presidential palace, both houses of parliament, the Louvre museum, and the bustling Champs-Élysées shopping avenue.

Amid this domestic turmoil, French President Emmanuel Macron sparked international friction by publicly criticizing United States counterpart Donald Trump. Macron accused the US leader of making opportunistic remarks and exploiting France’s internal rioting for political leverage in electoral campaigning.

Trump had earlier sought to attribute the French unrest to immigration policies while publicly praising French far-right figurehead Marine Le Pen, who sharply dismissed Macron’s criticism as conspiratorial rhetoric.

With thousands of individuals detained, a growing number of formal prosecutions underway, and financial markets reacting nervously to mounting sovereign debt concerns, the French government has signaled an unwavering stance of zero tolerance toward future violence as security forces strive to restore nationwide stability.
