——- Says Enugu State stands to benefit immensely from closer collaboration with the federal government.
A Public Affairs Analyst and Secretary, Guild of Public Affairs Analysts of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter, Dr. Chikezie Obasi, made this known while speaking on a topic “ Enugu’s Disruptive Transition from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC) : A Periscopic Analysis,” on Freedom Square, a programme on Solid FM, 100.9, anchored by Uchenna Cyril Anioke.
Dr. Obasi, described the recent defection of Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a strategic and progressive move aimed at accelerating the state’s development and integration into national politics.
He noted that Governor Mbah’s decision reflects a visionary understanding of political alignment for developmental advantage.
According to him, “ it is more of a strategic move and something that is inevitable. I know clearly that even if he had picked any other political party and looking at the quantum of work he has done in Enugu state today. Surely, he would win even if is XYZ political party. It is a strategic progressive move. Strategic in the essence that , he did not move to any other political party but he moved to the party.”
Dr. obasi emphasized that Governor Mbah has shown once again that leadership is about progress and not partisanship. His decision to join the APC demonstrates courage, foresight, and commitment to the larger interest of Ndi Enugu.
He added that the move will attract federal attention and infrastructure to the state, enhancing Mbah’s development agenda, especially in areas of infrastructure renewal, industrial growth, and youth empowerment.
Dr. Obasi further urged political stakeholders and residents of Enugu State to rally around the governor in his new political journey, noting that “politics should not divide the people but unite them for collective growth.
