Interim Government is useless and a distraction- Chimaroke Nnamani: Former Enugu State Governor, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani on Thursday, berated proponents of
Interim National Government (ING), saying that it is treasonable and an intentional insult to the sense
of Nigerians.
Nnamani who was denied of his return to Senate in the March general elections, by Labour party candidate,
Sir Kelvin Chukwu, in a statement in Abuja, he stressed that Interim government is absurd that it currently
has no place in the modern day democratic rule emphasizing that those behind the plot are enermies of Nigeria.

He said “The presidential election has been conducted and the All progressive Congress
(APC) candidate has been declared winner. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be sworn-in as
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on May 29, 2023. Therefore Interim government
is useless and a needless distraction for the Nation.”
Nnamani, who is the Senator representing Enugu East, reiterated that “Asiwaju will be sworn-in
come May 29, 2023 and he will definitely hit the ground running immediately”.
The Social Protection
Nnamani, assured Nigerians that he believes Tinubu will not move away from his commitment to
the programmes of Social Protection, National Transformation and Restructuring of the country.
Nnamani, a contemporary of Tinubu as Governors of their various states in the 1999 set, said he is
certain a Tinubu- led administration is going to address critical infrastructural development, youth
unemployment and youth bulge, women empowerment as well as the challenges facing the girl-child.

The former Governor predicted that a Tinubu-led government will give priority to budget
enhancements which is needed to address various issues in the Health sector, Education, in
the Area of Social Services, including portable drinking water and environmental sanitation.
He pleaded with Nigerians who are divided over the outcome of the Election to support the
incoming administration which he hopes will be a government of national unity where no section of Nigeria will be marginalized.
