The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has restored its Central Admissions Processing System, CAPS, following a temporary disruption that affected the 2026/2027 admission exercise.

JAMB, in a statement on Monday, announced that the platform was now fully operational and urged tertiary institutions to accelerate their admission processes to recover time lost during the disruption.

“With CAPS back online, institutions are urged to accelerate their admission processes to recover lost time and meet the agreed admission deadlines,” the board said.

JAMB also advised candidates who have received admission offers to promptly accept them through the appropriate process.

The board maintained that public universities must conclude their 2026/2027 admission exercises by October 31, 2026, while private universities have until November 30, 2026. Other tertiary institutions are expected to complete their admissions by December 31, 2026. 

The restoration follows a temporary outage that JAMB had attributed to technical challenges associated with the hosting arrangements for CAPS. The board had said it was engaging the hosting organisation to restore the platform. 

JAMB also directed candidates who had been awaiting their 2026 National Examinations Council Senior School Certificate Examination results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the results.

According to the board, the step would ensure that candidates’ academic records are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes. 

The board expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the disruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.

JAMB urged all stakeholders to take advantage of the restoration of CAPS and complete the 2026/2027 admission exercise within the approved timelines.
