–——- Describes his rising national relevance as a major boost for the development aspirations of Enugu State and the entire region.
Special Adviser (Political) to the Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Frank Anioma , made this known while speaking on the topic “Enugu State: Consolidating the Gains of joining APC,” on the programme, Beyond the Headlines on Freedom Square TV, anchored by Uchenna Cyril Anioke.
Anioma described Governor Peter Mbah as one of the most influential South-East voices currently engaging with the APC-led Federal Government, noting that his growing visibility at the national level is strengthening the region’s push for development.
Anioma stated that Governor Mbah’s strategic interactions with the Federal Government and his commitment to issue-based governance have positioned him as a critical bridge between the South-East and the centre.
He emphasized that Mbah’s development-focused leadership approach is drawing increased federal attention to the needs of Enugu State and the region at large.
According to him, “politics is about numbers. It is having a foresight that his Excellency took that decision to move out of PDP into APC, to join his colleagues from South East, to ask for the fair share of South East in APC and aligning South East and Enugu is the main strategic purpose of joining APC.
Before now, the South East had only five states and these five were about four political parties. It does not give room in having a united front because each political party has their sharing formula, they have their own process. But today, we are proud and happy that out of five, three state Governors can come together in APC and request for what is the true due for the South East within the APC fold.”
Governor Mbah has become a respected voice at the centre, and his engagement is yielding positive signals for the South-East, his work is not just elevating Enugu but reinforcing the region’s relevance in ongoing national conversations.
The governor’s leadership has been marked by bold economic reforms, investment-driven policies, and a strong pursuit of federal collaboration on infrastructure, power, security, and industrialization.
These efforts, he said, have made Mbah a prominent advocate for regional priorities within the national development framework.
He therefore noted that Governor Mbah’s rising influence could pave the way for improved federal–state partnerships, stronger regional representation, and a renewed push for inclusive development across the South-East.
