The Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Enugu State Governor, Hon. Frank Anioma, has said that Governor Peter Mbah’s administration has fundamentally changed the way government business is conducted in the state through its “disruption model.”

Anioma stated this during a Political Conversations programme, on Freedom Square Tv, anchored by Uchenna Cyril Anioke, Ph.D. where he explained that the model was designed to replace traditional approaches to governance with a more result-oriented, accountable, technology-driven and responsive system.

According to him, the administration’s approach is evident in its security architecture, civil service operations and deployment of technology in government.

He cited the installation of surveillance cameras and the deployment of vehicles equipped with artificial intelligence-enabled cameras as part of measures introduced to strengthen security across the state.

Anioma also pointed to changes in the state’s civil service, saying the administration had disrupted the previous pattern in which government activities were affected by the Monday sit-at-home order.

He said government offices now operate from Monday to Friday, describing the change as part of efforts to improve efficiency and ensure continuity in government business.

The governor’s aide, however, acknowledged that the administration had retained some policies inherited from previous governments where they were considered beneficial to the state.

He specifically cited the restriction on commercial minibuses operating beyond 9 p.m. and the ban on motorcycles as a means of commercial transportation, saying the measures were retained because of their security implications.

“Disruptive government does not mean that we will see something that is good and we will not adapt it. We will adapt to it and then make amendments where necessary,” Anioma said.

He maintained that the objective of the disruption model was not change for its own sake but the introduction of policies and systems capable of delivering better results for the people.

Anioma said the model was also being reflected in the administration’s investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, tourism and economic development.
