The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) has initiated a strategic partnership with construction giant Julius Berger Nigeria Plc to secure support for its upcoming landmark 60th Anniversary celebration, scheduled to take place in Abuja in September 2026. This development emerged following a high-level courtesy visit paid by an NITP delegation to the management of Julius Berger.

Led by past president Tpl. Kabir M. Yari, who represented the National President, Tpl. Dr. Ogbonna Chime, the delegation sought to foster deep collaboration with the construction firm. The NITP representatives were warmly received on behalf of the Board and Management of Julius Berger by the Director of Administration, Alhaji Abdulazeez Isa Kaita.

During the meeting, Kaita expressed the company’s appreciation for the visit and officially pledged Julius Berger’s commitment to supporting the upcoming diamond jubilee. Beyond sponsoring the anniversary event, the construction firm also promised to collaborate actively with the institute to promote and develop the wider Nigerian built environment.

The delegation representing the NITP featured several prominent industry professionals, including Tpl. Kabir M. Yari, Tpl. Amina Salawa, Tpl. Dr. Zayyanu Muhammad, Tpl. Obioma Udegbunan, Tpl. Queen Phillips, Tpl. Dr. Kingsley Kanu, Tpl. Munsurat Akintayo, Tpl. Evelyn Ebubedike, and Tpl. Halimatu Sadiyya Muhammad.
