Ohanaeze Ndigbo Responds to Misinformation
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Responds to Misinformation: Ohanaeze Ndigbo,
a prominent socio-cultural organization representing the Igbo people,
has issued a response to misleading reports circulating in various media outlets.
The reports suggest that Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in conjunction with a Yoruba group,
has requested the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to exercise caution in its actions regarding the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, who is allegedly involved in an N80.2 billion money laundering case.
The organization has categorically denied any involvement in such requests,
emphasizing that the mentioned individuals, Mr. Chimaobi Ezejiofor and the Ohanaeze
Ndigbo Youth Council, do not represent the official stance of Ohanaeze Ndigbo
Worldwide. They label Mr. Ezejiofor as an impostor and highlight that the Youth Council is unrecognized by the genuine organs and structures of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
the collaboration
Furthermore, Ohanaeze Ndigbo expresses deep concern over the collaboration
between unscrupulous media contractors and individuals seeking to tarnish the
organization’s reputation. They condemn the association of reputable media platforms with what they describe as “obnoxious yellow journalism,” stressing that it undermines the integrity of both the organization and the media itself.
It’s clarified that the current leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, led by Chief Engr. Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, does not engage in issuing press releases concerning the EFCC’s operations. Instead, they focus their efforts on promoting Igbo entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic development.
the commitment
Dr. Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia, the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, reaffirms the organization’s commitment to redirecting Igbo resources towards economic growth and job creation within Igbo communities.
In essence, Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s response serves to set the record straight regarding their purported involvement in the EFCC’s actions against the former Kogi Governor. It underscores their dedication to promoting the welfare and prosperity of the Igbo people while disavowing any unauthorized statements or actions attributed to the organization.
