Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has on Tuesday disclosed that he is no longer a member of the All Progressives congress (APC) in Lagos State.
Making the disclosure to pressmen through his media aid, Laolu Akande, the Vice-President explained that he has moved his APC party membership to Ogun State where he had revalidated his status in Ward 1, Ikenne, Ogun State on February 9th, 2021.
Osinbajo who was a leading member of Lagos State APC serving as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state under the then Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu, from 1999 to 2007 had used polling Unit 2, Victoria Garden City, Lagos.
The Tuesday announcement has been seen by political commentators as not unconnected with the perceived rift between the VP and his now estranged political benefactor, Tinubu, whom he allegedly slighted by declaring intention to run for the office of the presidency fully aware that the latter is running for the same office.
Recall that Tinubu had given oxygen to the rumor of possible rift with his political godson, the VP, when he dismissed Osinbajo’s intention to run for the presidency and declared that he does not have a political son old enough to run for that office
