Police Arrest Two Suspects Linked To Gun Parcel In Mene Ogidi Killing Case

Reports indicate that police authorities have arrested two individuals, including the alleged sender of the Beretta pistol and four rounds of ammunition linked to the killing of Mene Ogidi by ASP Nuhu Usman in Effurun, Delta State.

A source disclosed that the two suspects were brought to the Effurun Area Command under the Nigeria Police Force on Wednesday night as investigations continue into the movement of the firearm and the circumstances surrounding the death of the 28-year-old victim.

Although police authorities have yet to officially comment on the arrests, the source confirmed that one of those detained was allegedly responsible for sending the gun through a transport company from Yenagoa to Effurun. According to the source, Ogidi had reportedly collected the parcel and was attempting to forward it to its supposed owner in Sapele when he was arrested at the Effurun Motor Park and later allegedly killed extrajudicially by ASP Usman and others.

The source added that it remains unclear whether the second suspect is the driver who transported the package from Yenagoa, but investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other individuals connected to the case.
