Police Rescue Retired AIG’s Wife, Neutralize Kidnappers, and Recover Ransom in Ogun State

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Ogun State have successfully neutralized a group of kidnappers involved in the abduction of Mrs. Hakeem Odumosu, wife of a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police. The operation, which followed an intense manhunt, led to the rescue of the victim and the recovery of a significant, though undisclosed, amount of ransom paid to the criminals.

Mrs. Odumosu was taken from her home last Thursday when armed assailants invaded her residence in the Arepo area of Ogun State. The incident sparked widespread concern, prompting swift action from the Ogun State police command to ensure her safe return.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the successful rescue operation and emphasized that the victim was found unharmed. Adejobi, who is an Assistant Commissioner of Police, commended the efforts of the officers involved and expressed gratitude for their dedication.

“The police have successfully neutralized the kidnappers of AIG Hakeem Odumosu’s wife and recovered the ransom,” Adejobi announced. He also conveyed the appreciation of the Inspector-General of Police for the swift and effective response by the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, and his team. “We remain unwavering in our commitment to the safety of Nigerian citizens and the protection of our nation,” he added.
