The Police Service Commission (PSC) has recently approved the promotion of 38 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP), alongside the elevation of 100 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) to the rank of ACP. This decision was made during the continuation of the PSC’s extraordinary Plenary Meeting held at its Corporate Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja. The meeting, presided over by PSC Chairman DIG Hashimu Argungu (retired), also saw the participation of notable figures, including retired Supreme Court Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje, who represents the Judiciary, DIG Taiwo Lakanu (retired), representing the Police, and the Commission’s Secretary, Chief Onyemuchi Nnamani.
Among the 38 newly promoted Deputy Commissioners of Police are officers such as Emmanuel Deenom, Olufemi Takeet, Yusuf Doki Sani, Joseph Habakkuk Anche, Faruku Umaru, Danladi Daura, and Benedict Omotomilola Olomo, to name a few. Several Chief Superintendents of Police, including Ibrahim Mohammed Agava, Akinloye Joseph Oyegade, and Rilwanu Mohammed Dutse, have also been promoted to Assistant Commissioners. Additionally, a number of officers in key positions, such as Clement Ugochukwu Ezejiofor, Peter Obiyo Ihechere, and Benjamin Chidozie Egbu, have been elevated to ACPs.
In a statement released on Friday, Ikechukwu Ani, the Head of Press and Public Relations for the PSC, noted that the Commission remains committed to promoting deserving officers.
