The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for individuals who registered between January 5 and July 26, 2026, are not yet ready for collection ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a press conference in Lagos on preparations for the upcoming polls, the Lagos State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Ayobami Salami, clarified that while voter cards are currently available for persons who registered between August 25 and December 10, 2025—as well as legacy uncollected cards from 2011 to 2022—the batch for 2026 registrants is still undergoing processing. He assured the public that the commission will officially announce collection dates through its official communication channels once the cards are ready.
Salami further urged registered voters to utilize the ongoing display of the Register of Voters, which runs through October 15 across the state’s 245 registration areas, to verify their personal details and identify any discrepancies.
Highlighting nationwide preparations, the REC noted that nine out of the 14 statutory milestones on the revised timetable have been completed, with procurement underway for 57,000 new Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices and comprehensive logistical planning in place for the 2027 polls.
