Controversial and loquacious pastor and former media aide to ex-president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Reno Omokri has agreed to stop his social media ethnic and religious smear campaign attacks against the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Dr. Peter Obi.

A petition against Omokri for his social media accounts to be restricted over his vicious incitement especially against Igbos on social media, gained more than one hundred thousand signatures. Signatories also demanded that Omokri be stripped of the Business Influencer award given to him by Business Insider.

According to reliable reports; 

Reno Omokri in defense of his campaign of calumny against Peter Obi and his animosity with Obi’s supporters, claimed that his life as well as that of his one-year-old daughter was threatened by Peter Obi’s supporters.

“Reno Omokri also accused Peter Obi of complicity to the abuses he received from his supporters online. He accused Peter Obi of remaining reticent despite the latter’s several appeals to his supporters to be tolerant of opposing views as well as his explanation that impostors disguise as his supporters to attack his political opponents.”

Now, Mr. Omokri has stated via his Twitter handle, that he will, henceforth, stop antagonizing Dr. Obi because a mutual friend of his and Peter Obi has intervened.

According to Reno Omokri’s twit:

“A mutual friend of Peter Obi and I intervened between us. I respect him so much and agreed to accede to his request to remain neutral on Peter. I have kept to my words. But if any obidients threatens or attacks my one year old daughter, then to your tents o Israel!”
