South East should embrace APC to enhance critical development
South East should embrace APC to enhance critical development: Senator Chukwuka Utazi, who represented Enugu North senatorial district
and the Minority Chief whip in the 9th National Assembly under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, advocates for the South East’s
alignment with the APC to foster crucial development in the region.
The Senator who recently defected to the ruling party emphasized that his decision to shift from PDP to APC is motivated by the greater good
of the Igbo people rather than personal gains.
the flagship
Speaking on ‘Freedom Square’, a flagship radio program on Solid FM, and one of the most listened to, South East of the Niger and hosted by
Uchenna Cyril Anioke PHD, Senator Utazi emphasized the need for the South East to adopt a more inclusive political strategy by joining the
national party, APC, to leverage available resources for socio-infrastructural progress.
He underscored the importance of thinking beyond traditional party lines, noting that while other regions benefit from central government resources,
the South East expends significant energy on opposition politics. Senator Utazi urges his fellow Igbos, governors and other political stakeholders to
embrace the APC post-election, viewing political parties merely as platforms for electoral success.
the appointment
Highlighting Chief Dave Umahi’s ministerial appointment and the APC’s commitment to addressing infrastructure deficits, Senator Utazi asserts that
Igbo participation in the APC could yield more political appointments and development opportunities.
Expressing concern over the disparity in resource allocation between South East governors and their counterparts in the ruling party, Senator
Utazi encouraged South East politicians to join the APC for enhanced bargaining power and a potential share in power rotation at the national level.
Senator Utazi pledged to mobilize political stakeholders across the South East to consider the APC as a viable platform to advocate for
the region’s interests and possibly ease the path to Igbo Presidency.
