A tragic tanker explosion occurred on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Ugwu Onyeama in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, claiming the lives of at least 15 people.

The incident, which happened around 11:30 AM, involved a fuel tanker that exploded while navigating the busy expressway. Eyewitnesses described the blast as extremely powerful, causing extensive damage to nearby passenger vehicles and plunging the area into chaos.

The intensity of the explosion and the resulting fire made it difficult for bystanders to approach the scene promptly. The victims, many of whom were reportedly in the affected vehicles, were burned beyond recognition.
