Breaking news from the ongoing presidential primary of the Labour Party (LP) has indicated that Professor Pat Utomi and Joseph Faduri have stepped down their bids to pave way for Dr. Peter Obi to emerge as the presidential candidate of the party.
Prof. Utomi announced that he was stepping down for Dr. Obi because he is a younger aspirant with the capacity to effect the needed change in the Nigerian system adding that the liberation of Nigeria has began with the LP primaries.
However, an even younger aspirant, Joseph Faduri(45), also stepped down his bid for Dr. Obi who defected to LP from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) only a few days ago.
Dr. Obi who served two terms as Governor of Anambra State, ditched PDP where he was a frontline aspirant for the party’s presidential ticket barely two days to its primaries. He had cited developments within the main opposition party which he said are against his principles as the reason for ditching the party.
