Yakubu Dogara Criticizes Bauchi Governor’s Sudden U-Turn on Tinubu

Yakubu Dogara Criticizes Bauchi Governor’s Sudden U-Turn on Tinubu: Yakubu Dogara, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, has launched

a scathing attack on Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed,

accusing him of hypocrisy and inconsistency in his criticism of

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Dogara’s criticism comes after Mohammed,

who is also the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

Governors Forum, berated the president’s policies, saying they

were inflicting hardship on the people and urged him to change course

to avoid jeopardizing his reelection in 2027.

Yakubu Dogara Criticizes Bauchi Governor’s Sudden U-Turn on Tinubu:  the legal trouble

Dogara alleged that Mohammed had previously sought Tinubu’s help to avoid legal trouble after he “rigged himself into office” and had praised the president at the time.

However, just months later, Mohammed has now turned against Tinubu,

calling him “inept, incompetent, and incapable of running Nigeria.”

Dogara described this sudden u-turn as “uncalled for and unnecessary” and accused Mohammed of engaging in “truculent buffoonery.”

Furthermore, Dogara criticized Mohammed’s leadership in Bauchi State,

saying that he had failed to provide basic social amenities, such as functional schools and hospitals. He claimed that the state had one of the highest numbers of out-of-school children in Nigeria and that Mohammed had prioritized building a large government house and family home over investing in the state’s infrastructure.

the disappointment

Dogara also expressed disappointment that Mohammed, as a leader, had failed to inspire positive action and instead indulged in self-adulation and praise. He emphasized that leaders should work to bring an end to the current crisis in Nigeria, rather than engaging in “irresponsible” behavior.

In addition, Dogara stated that he was not surprised by Mohammed’s behavior, given his history of speaking and acting in a manner that “reveals contempt for rules, precedent, order, stability, and national cohesion.” He emphasized that Bauchi State was home to tested leaders who were raised with values and would not dare speak or operate in a manner that revealed contempt for rules and national cohesion.

the highlights

Overall, Dogara’s criticism of Mohammed highlights the ongoing political tensions in Nigeria and the need for leaders to prioritize the country’s development and stability over personal interests and political posturing.
