Former Zamfara State Governor and Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
Yari, who represents Zamfara West in the Senate, made the declaration on Sunday shortly after arriving at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, from an overseas trip.
He was received at the airport by supporters and members of the ruling APC.
Speaking with journalists, Yari said the performance of the Tinubu administration had strengthened the party’s chances of retaining the presidency in 2027.
He also assured Nigerians that the APC would fulfil the promises it made during the 2023 general elections.
“I want to assure Nigerians that whatever promise we made during the campaign, we shall keep to our promises.
“Today, we have seen him, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as president today, and by God’s grace, he shall be the president come 2027.
“The crowd are here to pray for me and for the success of Mr President,” he said.
The former governor maintained that the APC had established a reputation for keeping its promises to Nigerians and urged citizens to continue supporting the ruling party.
“Our party is synonymous for keeping to our words. We pray that Almighty Allah will give him the wisdom to lead this country.
“We assure Nigerians that we shall fulfil all our campaign promises,” Yari added.
The APC Presidential Campaign Council Director-General further expressed optimism that the party would retain control of the Federal Government after the 2027 elections.
According to him, the party’s ambition goes beyond securing a second term for President Tinubu, as it also seeks to maintain its influence at the federal level beyond the President’s tenure.
“We pray that our party will continue to be the party to lead the country after President Tinubu’s second term,” he said.
Yari’s comments come as political parties and opposition groups intensify preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with the APC seeking to consolidate its position at the centre.
