The people have known the power they have — Wole Soyinka

The people have known the power they have — Wole Soyinka: Nobel prize winner Professor Wole Soyinka has come out to say that he did not support any candidate in the just concluded general election.

He expressed his dissatisfaction with the candidates, and therefore did not endorse any candidate in the just concluded 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

While speaking and expressing his views in an interview with channels TV’s ROAD MAP 2023, He explained that there was no candidate that addressed matters that was close to his heart, that the contestants were just struggling to attain power.

Prof Soyinka said that the candidates did not show commitment, that they had no believable agenda that addresses decentralization and restructuring of the country. That this were the major problem facing the Nation and that it needs to be tackled.

He also expressed his worry that the “the election is not an edifying factor that shows what Nigeria has been witnessing”

Soyinka equally condemned the CBN governor Prof Godwin Emefiele for bringing untold hardship on the people of Nigeria, by bringing the currency swap and redesigning the naira, there by accusing him of commiting a crime against humanity.

He further emphasized and gives credit to Nigerians, and reiterated that there was a third force building up to the election, that Endsarz was really a motivation to the youth and their commitment towards making a change to alternative government and candidate , stating the youths have woken up, he further mentioned that now the people know the power they have.

He also decried the rues of fake news, and lamented that so many comments where made in his name during the election, he debunked them by saying he only had private conversation and did not make any comments during this just concluded Nigeria General Election that took place not long ago.
