Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has on Monday in a live video on Channels Television declared his intention to run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The announcement has put to rest speculation as to where the VP stands with respect to the 2023 elections.

Recall that Osinbajo had on Sunday met with the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at his official residence obviously to intimate them beforehand about his intention to run for the presidency.

In the announcement, Osibajo promised that if he gets elected, he will build on the legacies of the Buhari-led government and that he will tackle insecurity and provide infrastructural facilities for rapid development.
