ITF Denies Rumors of Relocating Headquarters from Jos

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has officially denied any plans to move its headquarters from Jos to another location. This clarification was issued by Mr. Thomas Ngor, the Head of Press and Public Relations, in a statement released on Friday in Jos.

Ngor explained that the ITF became aware of circulating reports suggesting an alleged attempt to relocate the agency’s headquarters from Jos. These claims reportedly originated from concerns raised by Plateau State lawmaker Prof. Theodore Maiyaki (APC/Quaan-Pan South) during a recent plenary session at the state House of Assembly.

The ITF spokesperson emphasized that relocating a government agency involves multiple procedural steps, none of which have been initiated or considered by the ITF’s management, its Governing Council, or the supervising Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment. He firmly stated that no discussions or plans regarding such a move have taken place at any level of the organization.

Reaffirming the ITF’s dedication to Plateau State and Nigeria’s industrial and economic development, Ngor highlighted that Jos remains the central operational base of the agency and will continue to be so in the foreseeable future. He noted the Fund’s deep-rooted historical connection with Plateau State, dating back to 1976 when its headquarters was moved from Lagos to Jos. Since then, the ITF has played a significant role in the socio-economic growth of the state.

Ngor further expressed the ITF’s willingness to engage in constructive discussions with the Plateau State government and other key stakeholders to address any concerns and enhance collaborative efforts for mutual progress. He reassured the public of the Fund’s unwavering commitment to maintaining its presence in Jos and urged citizens to disregard the relocation rumors, describing them as baseless and misleading.

The statement serves as a firm rebuttal to the speculation, reinforcing the ITF’s position as a longstanding institution dedicated to its mandate and its enduring relationship with Plateau State.
