The tragic and controversial death of Mrs. Shimite Bello Love (née Nwakalo), a Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export, has left her family and community in deep sorrow. Popularly known as “Madam Sabificate,” Shimite reportedly died on Easter Sunday from suspected poisoning. Family members have alleged foul play, resulting in the arrest of her husband, Pastor David Favour Love. Witnesses claim Shimite was foaming at the mouth before she passed away, and she was declared dead upon arrival at St. Luke’s Hospital in Asaba.

Shimite was a vibrant and accomplished figure. She contested the Oshimili North constituency seat in the 2023 PDP primaries and previously served as the Executive Secretary of the Delta State Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency. Beyond her government roles, she was also the Group President/CEO of the Quintessential Group, focusing on agriculture and solid minerals. Her death has sent shockwaves through the Delta State community.

Family members expressed shock at her sudden demise, with one relative recalling their lengthy conversation just a day before she passed. Suspicion grew when Shimite’s maid contacted her elder brother, reporting that Pastor David had locked her in the house all day. Upon arrival, her brother discovered her in a critical state with foam coming from her mouth. Police were immediately informed, and Pastor David was arrested.

Family allegations paint a disturbing picture of Shimite’s life leading up to her death, accusing her husband of isolating her from loved ones and controlling her actions. He reportedly changed the ownership of her properties to his name and restricted her movements, citing his role as her “spiritual father.” Some relatives believe she was manipulated or hypnotized, pointing to her husband’s overprotective and jealous behavior.
