Enugu’s Destiny is Connected with the Central Hub of Federal Government for Development – Gov. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah

——— Says decision is guided by the vision to bring Enugu closer to the center of national development.

Governor Mbah stated that Enugu State’s developmental aspirations are intrinsically linked with the central hub of the Federal Government, emphasizing that alignment with national governance is key to achieving sustainable growth and prosperity.

The Governor made this assertion during a special broadcast at the Government House, Enugu, October 14, 2025, where he officially announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, “ this move is bigger than politics. It is about alignment at scale . It is about connecting Enugu’s destiny with the central hub of broader reforms shaping our nation.”

Governor Mbah stated that his decision was borne out of a deep conviction that Enugu must be strategically positioned within the mainstream of national politics to attract federal attention and resources for development.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the “Tomorrow is Here” agenda, assuring citizens that his political realignment would not derail the ongoing transformation efforts across the state.

Governor Mbah also expressed confidence that his new political platform would provide greater opportunities for collaboration with the Federal Government, thereby accelerating the pace of development projects in critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security.

Political observers say the Governor’s defection marks a major shift in the political landscape of Enugu State and could influence alignments ahead of future elections.
