Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has recounted his ordeal in a road crash in Abuja on Wednesday in which he lost two of his aides.
Recall that reports had made rounds on Wednesday that the immediate past president escaped unhurt from a road auto crash involving his convoy while on his way from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
According to a press statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the former President, Ikechukwu Eze, two police officers attached to his principal lost their lives while two others sustained injuries and are responding to treatment at the hospital.
Giving the names of the deceased officers as Inspectors Ibrahim Abazi and Yakubu Toma, Former President Jonathan described their demise as very painful adding that they were good officers who were dedicated in their service to the nation.
“Jonathan sent condolences to the families of the bereaved and the police high command. The former President prayed to God to grant the souls of the departed eternal rest and bless their families and the nation with the fortitude to bear the loss,” the statement read.
