The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has held talks with the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, aimed at easing the growing financial strain on domestic airlines.

According to a statement issued by his media aide, Tunde Moshood, the meeting in Abuja focused on addressing the impact of fluctuating aviation fuel prices, which continue to drive up operating costs for carriers and affect passenger movement, connectivity, and overall economic activity.

Both ministers explored possible areas of cooperation, including aligning policies, introducing fiscal support measures, and developing innovative financing options to strengthen airline operations, improve efficiency, and attract investment into the aviation sector.

They also emphasised the critical role of aviation in boosting economic growth, facilitating trade, promoting tourism, and enhancing regional integration. The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to implementing strategies that will build a more stable, sustainable, and competitive aviation industry in Nigeria.

In addition, they agreed to maintain ongoing collaboration and engage key stakeholders to ensure that reforms deliver meaningful benefits for operators, investors, and air travelers.
