ICE Arrests Nigerian Man in Los Angeles Over Alleged Sex Offences, Faces Deportation

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement has taken into custody a 53-year-old Nigerian man, Olatunde Abiodun Olusanjo, in Los Angeles over past criminal allegations, including child molestation and other sexual offences.

Olusanjo was arrested on April 21, 2026, by officers from ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations unit and is currently being held pending deportation proceedings.

The Los Angeles ERO office confirmed the development on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, identifying him as an undocumented individual with a criminal history. According to the agency, his record includes previous arrests for child molestation, sexual battery, and solicitation of lewd conduct.

A video released alongside the announcement showed the suspect in handcuffs being escorted from an ICE vehicle into custody, with officials reiterating the nature of the offences linked to him.

Authorities noted that the arrest is part of a wider enforcement campaign targeting foreign nationals with criminal convictions across the United States.

Earlier in the year, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security reported the arrest of 79 Nigerians described as high-risk offenders, facing a range of charges including sexual crimes, fraud, manslaughter, drug trafficking, kidnapping, and robbery.

Olusanjo remains in detention as immigration authorities continue the process to remove him from the country.
