Mohamed Salah Eyes 2025 Ballon d’Or After Historic Season Leading Liverpool to Premier League Glory

Liverpool’s star forward, Mohamed Salah, has expressed his strong desire to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or in 2025 following a phenomenal season that saw him play a pivotal role in guiding the Reds to their second Premier League title since 2020. Under the management of Arne Slot, Salah delivered outstanding performances, scoring 28 goals and providing 18 assists — totaling an impressive 46 goal contributions for the season.

The Egyptian international has already been recognized with the Football Writers’ Player of the Year award and is widely tipped to sweep the individual accolades in England this season. Salah himself acknowledged that this might be his most promising opportunity yet to win the Ballon d’Or, citing the combination of his individual brilliance and Liverpool’s collective success.

Reflecting on the season, Salah said it was perhaps his best ever at Liverpool, especially given the major trophy they secured. He described the title-winning moment against Tottenham Hotspur as the happiest he has felt in his eight years at the club. While disappointed that Liverpool missed out on the UEFA Champions League after their loss to Paris Saint-Germain, he reiterated his dream to win both the Premier League and Champions League again.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot also voiced his support for Salah’s Ballon d’Or ambitions, noting that while Salah has consistently delivered top-tier performances, this season stands out due to both his stats and the team’s title triumph. Slot emphasized that although other players have also had remarkable seasons globally, Salah’s contribution makes a compelling case for the award. He added that if Salah doesn’t win it this time, he’s the type of player who will come back even stronger next year.

Currently, Salah is just one goal contribution away from tying the Premier League record for most goal involvements in a single season — a record jointly held by Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole at 47. He hopes to match or surpass that milestone in Liverpool’s final match against Crystal Palace.
