The Nigerian Copyright Commission has paid a courtesy visit to Ogbuefi Book Foundation and Freedom Square TV ahead of the 2026 World Book and Copyright Day celebration scheduled for April 23.

The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the organisations to ensure a successful event and to build a long-term partnership for future educational, literary and creative programmes.

Speaking during the meeting, Sir Uchenna Cyril Anioke, President and Chairman of Freedom Square TV and Ogbueffi Book Foundation, disclosed that this year’s celebration would be held in grand style at the Ogbuefi Book Foundation and Freedom Square TV premises, 11 Umunze Crescent, phase 6, Trans Ekulu, Enugu

The delegation from the Nigerian Copyright Commission was led by the coordinator, Macfoy Okwudili Akachukwu. Other members of the team included Mrs Maria Onyinyechi Machebe, Head of Human Resource Management (HRM) and Mrs Pauline Ngozi Onuchukwu, head of Planning Research and Statistics ( PRS) in Enugu state.
Also present at the meeting was a media and on air personality, Lilian Ezinwa, who attended in her dual capacity as representative of the Kiddies Playground Show on Solid 100.9 FM and the Ogbueffi Book Foundation.
Activities lined up for the celebration include author talks, reading and spelling competitions, dance presentations, copyright awareness sessions for parents and students, as well as mentorship programmes for aspiring writers.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with organisations reaffirming their commitment to promoting literacy, creativity and copyright awareness in the society. The highlight of the visit was a group photograph session to commemorate the occasion.
