Pretender In Politics: Mohammed Openly Declares For Presidency But Secretly Buys Governorship Form

A recent report has indicated that the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Bala Mohammed, who has been openly canvassing for the presidential ticket of his party, has secretly purchased the governorship form for Bauchi State.
According to the report, he purchased the form after clearance from his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to run for his state’s governorship primary. The clearance was the result of his eligibility for reelection in 2023 for a second term having only been in office for a first term.
The revelation has given credence to the claim of another PDP presidential aspirant, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, that some of his co-contestants were not committed as he is to the party because they have other plans to take care of themselves if they fail to secure the party’s presidential ticket.
Recall also that a group of mainly Fulani people that claim they represent the North controversially adopted the same Alhaji Mohammed and a fellow Fulani and former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, as consensus candidates of the North.
However, the spokesperson for Alhaji Mohammed’s presidential campaign, Udenta Udenta, dismissed the report as a rumour. In his words: “I don’t comment on mere rumours. What I know is that he had been screened to contest for the presidency and he has joined a long list of other candidates.”
