Windstorm accompanying a heavy rainstorm has on Tuesday reportedly destroyed dozens of houses and properties running into millions of naira in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The heavy downpour, the first for the year in Borno State,started around 3pm and lasted for over four hours and It destroyed some houses thus rendering many residents of the metropolis homeless.

Already relief agencies and volunteers have step in on the effort to clear the debris at the wake of the storm and to offer much needed assistance to the victims of the natural mishap.
