“I went to the hospital on account of a chronic leg pain. They charged me N8500 just to conduct a test for me. I did not have the money, so I went back home. However, I came here today and all the tests were conducted for me free of charge. Not only that, they also gave me all the drugs I need. I have taken some of the drugs already and I am now very strong.

Hon. Toby Okechukwu brings in high quality drugs and the drugs are being dispensed free of charge to all who need them and have come for them.

“It is my prayers that the person of Toby Okechukwu should endure in Ugbonambo and Umuego and Umu-Israel. He is an Israeli. His personage should endure in Enugu State. These are the things we beg from God, Mrs. Okeke said.

Giving account of the series of successes recorded so far , Dr. Francis Okpara, a Consultant Gynecologist and member of Doctors On The Move Africa (DOTMA), explained that the medical team is a non-profit organization and is in  partnership with Hon Tobi Okechukwu to realize his free medical outreach to the people.

In his words:

For some well-meaning Nigerians who can afford to take medical services to their community, DOTMA fills in the gap. We have the technical support, the manpower and everything. So if you provide the resources, we can actually come in and fill that gap. Like most of these surgeries that we do, people have waited for two, three, four and five years because they cannot afford to pay for these surgeries. But when we come in, with the resources that we have, and the technical support, and then the support from the well-meaning Nigerians, we can actually fill that gap.

On the range of medical services the team provides tothe people, Dr. Okpara said:

We offer you services from general medical and surgical services: the eye, the radiology side, the lab – all of them are actually free. So, it bridgesthe gap between people who know that they have a problem but can’t afford to… There are a number of them who don’t even know they have a problem. So, when we come in like that, we sort out those issues and then give the required services they need.

He said that on a personal level, what motivates such invaluable service to fellow human is the indescribable fulfilment and satisfaction of being able to offer assistance to people who cannot help themselves.

He urged people of means all over the country to emulate Rt. Hon Toby Okechukwu and assist the people, especially the less privileged in ways those people can not help themselves.

For the first day of Rt. Hon Toby Okechukwu’s free medical outreach, almost 700 consultation cards were issued to patients some of whom have already received treatment and drugs at the ongoing exercise.

The week-long exercise which  started on Tuesday will run till Monday, June 20th, courtesy of Rt. Hon TobyOkechukwu.
