Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has spoken out following the defeat of celebrity businessman and socialite Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for a House of Representatives seat.
Cubana Chief Priest had contested for the APC ticket to represent the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The nightlife promoter, who doubles as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, lost the primary election to the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Nwachukwu, after reportedly receiving only 14 votes.
Reacting to the development, Seyi Tinubu shared a motivational message to the socialite via his Instagram page on Sunday, a post that Cubana Chief Priest later reposted on his own account.
“Bro, sometimes losing one battle opens the door to winning the bigger war. Keep your spirit high @cubana_chiefpriest. We know the greatness you are capable of,” Seyi wrote.
Earlier, Cubana Chief Priest had also reacted to the outcome in a video making rounds online, stressing that he had no regrets about vying for the position.
“I’m a hustler, and I have no regrets about contesting. My only disappointment was trusting the elders in the community.
“I know the level of support I gave them, yet only 14 delegates voted for me during the primary,” he said.
His defeat has continued to generate mixed reactions across social media, with some users mocking him for failing to secure the APC ticket despite his open support for President Tinubu.
