Two teenagers arrested in Enugu for arm robbery: The Enugu State Police Command has
apprehended three individuals, including two teenagers, in connection with a string
of armed robberies in the state. David Ogah Bassey, also known as “Onye Army,” 31, Akabue Favour, 18, and Obayi Chiemezie, 19, were arrested on May 3 and May 7 in Oji River and Gariki, respectively.
According to police spokesman Daniel Ndukwe, the suspects had been terrorizing
commercial tricyclists, known as keke drivers, and snatching cars in Enugu metropolis
and other parts of the state. The teenagers, Akabue Favour and Obayi Chiemezie,
were arrested after attempting to snatch a Honda car from its owner in the
Achi community of Oji-River Local Government Area. They used toy pistols in the attempted robbery, but were apprehended after a high-speed chase.

The police recovered the toy guns, a syringe containing a liquid substance suspected to
be acid, and other exhibits from the teenagers. Onye Army, the third suspect,
was arrested by police detectives in Gariki, Enugu, following a report from a tricyclist
who alleged that he was robbed by a gang of three armed robbers. The victim identified Onye Army as one of the suspects who robbed him the previous night.
The police spokesman stated that all three suspects would be arraigned and prosecuted
once discreet investigations into the cases were concluded. The arrests are a significant
breakthrough in the fight against armed robbery in Enugu State, and the police are
urging residents to continue providing valuable information to help combat crime.
