Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd (IVM), on Tuesday affirmed its plans to set up an automobile manufacturing plant in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Briefing newsmen on the plans, The Chairman, Innoson Group of Companies, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, said the move is in line with the group’s corporate policy of empowering the youths as a means of deepening automobile technology in Nigeria. He however added that the patronage of Imo State Government was also a huge factor that necessitated the decision to site the plant in the state.
Mr. Chukwuma who said all that they do is in keeping to the group’s mission of becoming a giant in vehicle manufacturing in Africa by serving the country’s and continent’s vehicle needs, clarified that when the Owerri plant starts operation, hundreds of youths will be directly or indirectly engaged hence providing means of livelihood for otherwise idle hands.
He stated that Innoson is ever willing to set up plants in states that patronize the IVM brand and in which such patronage is guaranteed going forward.
In line with its policy of maintaining the best world standards, the Innoson Chairman disclosed that the group has imbibed the tradition of building a high-tech auto training academy anywhere it sites a plant.
