The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has expressed its desire for the ongoing support of the Enugu State Government in fulfilling its mandate of providing decent and affordable housing for residents of the state and beyond.

The FMBN commended the unwavering support it has received from the Enugu State Government, particularly under the leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, over the past eight years in achieving its objectives.

The mortgage bank emphasized its reliance on the steadfast support and cooperation of the state government to enable it to deliver decent and affordable housing for all.

During a courtesy visit to Governor Ugwuanyi at the Government House in Enugu, following the inauguration of the FMBN-I-Connect House Estate, Mr. Ayodeji Ariyo Gbeleyi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of FMBN, stated that the bank is working tirelessly to achieve a common goal.

Mr. Gbeleyi assured Governor Ugwuanyi, saying, “We will continue to count on your state’s support in this regard, and we are committed to doing more.”

He explained that the FMBN-I-Connect Housing Estate, known as Winners Estate, consists of 254 housing units and is located at Legacy Layout, behind New GRA, Trans Ekulu, Enugu. The project was developed under the Cooperative Housing Development Loan (CHDL) window of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria and was financed by the bank while being developed by I-Connect Investment Limited. The housing project is now completed and occupied by satisfied homeowners.

The inauguration ceremony was overseen by Governor Ugwuanyi’s representative, Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, and supervised by the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, and the Minister of State, Works and Housing, Hon. Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub.

He assured the bank’s leadership that the incoming administration of Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah would continue to provide support and cooperation to ensure the bank thrives in the state. Governor Ugwuanyi urged them to extend maximum support and cooperation to Dr. Mbah and his administration, expressing optimism that the incoming governor would excel in his responsibilities.
