Enugu Governor Inaugurates State’s Secretariat Annex in Nsukka

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State marked another significant milestone ahead of the May 29 handover by inaugurating the Enugu State Secretariat Annex in Ede-Oballa, Nsukka. The imposing three-story building boasts 27 offices and various supplementary facilities, serving as a fitting addition to the state’s infrastructure.

The governor’s visionary approach and timely execution of the project garnered widespread praise from civil servants, as well as the local community of Ede-Oballa. The Head of Service, Mr. Ken Chukwuegbo, commended Governor Ugwuanyi for his foresight in realizing the construction of the Secretariat Annex. Similarly, Chief Engr. Vita Abba and the traditional rulers of the four autonomous communities in Ede-Oballa lauded the governor for his commitment to improving the region.

One of the primary advantages of the newly operational State Secretariat Annex is the reduced travel distance for staff working in the Enugu North zonal offices. Previously, these employees had to regularly commute to Enugu for official duties. However, with the annex now available, their activities can be conducted locally, saving time, costs, and increasing overall operational efficiency. The relocation of several Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to the Secretariat Annex in Nsukka will enhance cohesion and facilitate better coordination of the government’s administrative functions.
