The Federal Government has emphasized its commitment to fostering partnerships with lessors and financiers to bolster Nigeria’s domestic airline industry. This was revealed by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, during an interview on Thursday. According to Keyamo, the government is focused on creating a competitive and sustainable aviation ecosystem that meets global standards.

The Minister also outlined plans to lead a Nigerian aviation delegation to the “Boeing Lessor Forum” in Dublin, Ireland, from January 12 to 15. He described the event as a key platform for Nigeria to demonstrate its ongoing reforms and strengthen its partnerships in the aviation sector. “The Boeing Lessor Forum will provide a unique opportunity to forge strategic alliances and unlock innovative leasing and financing solutions that align with our objectives,” Keyamo said.

He further explained that the delegation’s participation would focus on addressing logistical needs and ensuring productive engagement at the forum. Keyamo also reaffirmed the government’s dedication to strengthening Nigeria’s adherence to international protocols, particularly the “Cape Town Convention,” to enhance investor confidence.

Additionally, the Minister highlighted several key initiatives under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to invest in modernizing airports and improving air navigation systems to ensure better safety and operational efficiency. Keyamo also mentioned the government’s efforts to develop local talent through specialized training programs to support the long-term growth of the aviation sector in Nigeria.
