Popular Nollywood star Alexx Ekubo has reportedly passed away at the age of 40 after battling cancer for a prolonged period.

According to reports by The Sun Nigeria, sources close to the family disclosed that the actor died on Monday, May 11, 2026, after months of health complications.

Concerns about Ekubo’s wellbeing had grown in recent months following his disappearance from public activities and social media platforms for a long period.

His last known social media update was reportedly shared in December 2024, around the time reports emerged that his engagement had ended.

Widely recognised for his talent, screen charisma and appearance, the actor established himself as one of Nollywood’s prominent figures, starring in several successful movies and television projects over the years.
