Three of the rampaging Muslim miscreants protesting alleged blasphemous statement made against Mohammad by one Naomi Goni, on her Facebook account, have been arrested by the police in Maiduguri.
Goni, was accused of making insulting statement against Mohammed while reacting to the killing of a Christian student, Deborah Samuel, a 200-level female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, over alleged blasphemy against the same Mohammed.
Confirming the arrest, the Borno State Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umar, said they arrested the Muslim miscreants with something suspected to be fuel in a jerry can.
The Police Commissioner warned residents not to take advantage of the protest to disrupt peace in the state adding that all forms of unlawful assembly in the state remained banned. He said:
“Security operatives are going round the metropolis to dislodge any unlawful assembly.
“For now the suspects are in custody but I don’t think they are connected with a particular offence until after investigation.”
