Peter Mbah, We will operate a realistic and achievable “lean” and smart economy: Dr Peter Ndubuisi MbahDr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Enugu, has in a meeting with members of the Guild of Public Affairs Analysts of Nigeria
(GPAAN) promised to operate a “lean” and “smart” economy by using strategic plans
to move Enugu State from a meagre GDP of $4.4 billion economy to an ambitious $30 billion economy, if elected into power.
The GPAAN group as was led by the Enugu State Chapter Chairman Ambrose Igboke
and the Vice Chairman, Dr Uchenna Cyril Anioke had on Monday visited the PDP guber candidate at his Enugu residence.
According to Mr Igboke the visit is an advocacy visit aimed at getting first hand
information on the candidate’s vision and mission for Enugu State.
He further explained that the public affairs analysts were opinion moulders who set
agenda for discourse and proffer critical analyses and insights in national discourse.
So the visit will more or less enlighten members on the candidate’s ideas and how he
intend to move the state forward.
The Manifesto
Mbah in response outlined his vision and mission and made reference to his manifesto
which is currently “the talk of the town.”
He said;
“we plan to tackle the challenges of the state, using a strategic plan to move Enugu State
from a meagre GDP of $4.4 billion economy to an ambitious $30 billion economy, if elected.
we will operate a “lean” and smart economy which would be realistic,
achievable and realisable,
using private sector as drivers of the economy.
It will be a technology-driven economy with intention to do things “differently” within four years of our administration.”
The Revenue of the State
Mbah further disclosed that Enugu State has the capacity to be a top tier state
economically and that his administration will bring it to reality. He promised to
work on increasing the internally generated revenue of the state.
The Vice Chairman, Dr Uchenna Anioke, said the visit was across party lines and
targeted at candidates of the major political parties in the coming elections.
He said that GPAAN would continue the advocacy to interrogate and espouse these
ideas as the elections drew closer.
Dr Peter Mbah has also said he looked forward to further discussions and interactive sessions with the GPAAN for more cross pollination of ideas.
