Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has approved the appointment of new members and principal officers to several key state institutions as part of efforts to strengthen governance, reform public institutions and improve service delivery.

The appointments, which take immediate effect, affect the Enugu State Civil Service Commission, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and the governing councils of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo, and Enugu State College of Education (Technical) (ESCET).

The appointments were contained in a public service announcement signed by the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, and dated Friday, September 4, 2026.

Civil Service Commission

Prof. Gabriel Ajah was appointed Chairman of the Enugu State Civil Service Commission.

Other members appointed to the commission are Christian Mbah, Member One; Mrs. Stella Ekweremadu, Member Two; Mrs. Theresa Onyefuzili Ifeanyichukwu, Member Three; Uzonna Emmanuel Ogarabe, Member Four; and Ambrose Nwodo, Secretary.

Enugu State TVET

Dr. Amaka S. Ngene was appointed Chairman of the Enugu State Technical and Vocational Education and Training institution.

She will be joined by Bonaventure Onu, Barr. Nnadi Eluke and Kingsley Agwu as members, while Mrs. Joy Odike was appointed Secretary.

ESUT Governing Council

Barr. Victor Chukwuani was appointed Chairman of the Governing Council of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

Other members are Engr. James Ifeanyichukwu Ajibo, Dr. Eric Oluedo, Dr. Mrs. Gladys Ngozi Okoro and Chukwu Chikaodiri Joy.

IMT Governing Council

For the Institute of Management and Technology, Hon. Chinedu Onu was appointed Chairman of the Governing Council.

The council members are Dr. Barth Nwankwo, Barr. Emeka Ede, Mrs. Rita Chimaobi and Prince Tony Nwonye.

Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo

Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Aniagboso Igwe was appointed Rector of the Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo.

Deaconess Ifeoma Nwobodo was appointed Chairman of the Governing Council, while Obinna Aleke, Barr. Henry Okeke and Emeka Abba were appointed members.

ESCET Governing Council

At the Enugu State College of Education (Technical), Barr. Nwabueze Ugwu was appointed Chairman of the Governing Council.

Other members are Prince Cletus Ajaegbu, Dr. Chiesonu Isiga Eruchalu, Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwatu and Theophilus Onyebeke.

The state government said the appointments were part of the Mbah administration’s ongoing efforts to reform institutions, strengthen governance and enhance effective service delivery across the state.

All the appointments take immediate effect.
